Travel Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Northern Lights Hunt

Arrival: Upon your arrival, enjoy an easy transfer to your comfortable hotel to settle in.

Evening Adventure: Set off on a 4-hour guided Northern Lights hunt into the Arctic wilderness, fully equipped with warm clothing and boots. Your expert guide will monitor the skies and drive to multiple viewing locations sometimes up to three spots to give you the best chance of seeing the aurora. Gather around a campfire for hot drinks and snacks while keeping watch for the magical lights above. Professional photos will be taken during the tour and sent to you the next day. Pick-up and drop-off are included.

Day 2: Husky Cart Ride & Salmon Soup Master Class

Morning: At the Husky kennel, you will be welcomed by the mushers and the excited barking of their lovely dogs. All the dogs are very photo enthusiastic, so do not forget your camera! You will be introduced to your dog team, given safety instructions, and shown how to drive the cart. Then, start a 3.5-kilometre drive through the peaceful Taiga forest (maximum 2 adults per cart). Duration of the tour: 2h 30min (including transfers).

Evening: The Finnish salmon soup (Lohikeitto) is the perfect soup. It’s a diamond of Finnish cuisine, easy home cooking, super healthy, and suitable for any event. During this master class, we will teach you how to prepare this staple recipe, and afterward, we test it together. Included: Transfers, English-speaking guide, all equipment and ingredients, cooking class, degustation, and tea or coffee with sweets.

Day 3: Korouoma Canyon Hiking Trip

The Excursion: Korouoma is a 30-kilometre long and up to 130-meter deep canyon fracture valley located 110 kilometres south-east of Rovaniemi. It offers breathtaking scenery all year, with dramatic cliffs, rapids, and waterfalls.

The Hike: Your guide will drive you to Korouoma Canyon for a scenic hike in the nature reserve. You will have the chance to enjoy the incredible peaceful atmosphere of local forests. Depending on the time of the year, you can observe all the colours and shades the Arctic nature offers! The excursion lasts around 7 hours, including transportation, hiking, and a convivial time around the campfire. You will be back in Rovaniemi around 16:00.

Day 4: Reindeer Farm Visit

Morning: Come and meet the most iconic animal of Lapland! Your guide will drive you in a small group (never more than 8 people) to one of the most traditional reindeer farms in Lapland. The family of reindeer herders are based just outside of Rovaniemi on the lovely shores of a peaceful lake.

The Experience: Taken in by the beautiful surroundings at the farm, you will learn about the reindeer directly from the herders. They will show you around the traditional farm, and because it is the first visit of the day, you will have a chance to feed them their favourite food: lichen. Duration: 2 hours (including transfers).

Afternoon: Enjoy a free afternoon to relax or explore the city center at your own pace.
